Executive Board

Paul Arens | Chief Executive Officer

Paul received his Master in Science in Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and received his PhD in Business Administration at Business University Nijenrode in 2006. Before he became a partner at Monidee he worked at SNS Bank as Region Manager. Paul is also a qualified Prince2 Project Manager.

William Janse | Chief Technology Officer

William has a BSc in Information and Communication Technology and joined Monidee in 2007. Previously William co-founded the company J&V and co-lead this company for 10 years from 1997. William acquired exclusive rights to the Compliance Tools software suite from J&V in 2007 and merged soon with Monidee.

Reinier Steen | Chief Financial Officer

Reinier has graduated as certified public accountant (“Registeraccountant”). Besides, he has completed his studies as certified controller (“Registercontroller”) and information management, both at Nivra-Nijenrode university.

Reinier has worked for the auditing firms KPMG and Deloitte, for both firms during 5 years. After this period, Reinier has been CFO at Sorbo (service merchandising of slow moving consumer goods in retail), DeDietrich Remeha (heating industry) and ForFarmers (compound feed for livestock).

Willy Simon | Chairman

Willy began his career at Kredietbank after studying law in Leuven and Strasbourg. Willy joined Citibank London in 1984 and became MD of Derivative Structuring for Citibank in Europe. In 1991 he became Global Head of Investments Structuring before joining Generale Bank in 1997. He also became a board member for Generale Bank in the Netherlands before becoming CEO of Fortis Investment Management. In 2002 Willy was appointed Director of IMC Holding and Chairman of Bank Oyens & Van Eeghen. He is now a partner of Redi & Partners a London-based team of hedge fund managers. He holds various non-executive board member positions including that with Monidee.

Hans van Tol | Head of Sales

Hans is a Chartered Financial Analyst (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and has a Masters in Financial Economics. Hans’ career includes positions at Bank Mees & Hope, ING and Fortis Bank, where he was Director of the Treasury Department. Hans has also continued his professional studies at the Institute for Financial Training, University of Oxford en Fontainebleau.

Mathieu Isliker | Head of Legal and Compliance

Mathieu studied Swiss Law and earned his MBA at Nijenrode and the Rochester University. Mathieu worked at ING bank as a trader in Over The Counter Currency Options. At ABN AMRO Bank he became Vice-President at the Global Option Desk. Mathieu has been working with Monidee since 1999.
